I use my oven (electric), if I need to.  I turn it on to 350 F for 30 
seconds and turn it off, which brings the temperature up to about 85 
F.  I usually just proof at room temperature though.  None of the 
recipes in "The Bread Baker's Apprentice" that I have tried call for 
proofing in a box.
