                         Old Fashioned Drop Biscuits

    2                  C  All-Purpose Flour
    1               Tbsp  Sugar
    2                Tsp  Baking Powder
       1/2           Tsp  Salt
       1/4           Tsp  Baking Soda
    3               Tbsp  Vegetable Shortening
    1                  C  Lowfat Buttermilk
                          nonfat Cooking Spray -- butter flavor
Preheat oven to 400F.
Combine first 5 ingredients; cut in shortening with a pstry blender
or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.  Add buttermilk;
stir until moist.
Drop by heaping Tbsp 1 1/2" apart onto baking sheets coated with 
cooking spray.  Lightly coat tops of biscuits with cooking 
spray.  Bake at 400F for 15 min or until lightly browned.
Yield: 16 biscuits
