I was wondering whether anyone has ever tried grinding their own grain. King Arthur advertises a manual grain mill which looks good, but I hear from friends that manual machines tend to take a long, long time and are sometimes very noisy. The electric mills seem rather expensive. I usually bake a couple of 1 1/2 lb loaves a week and tend towards the heavier, grainier breads. Any thoughts out there? Susans@tiger.hsc.edu
