Bread-Bakers v096.n005.1

We recently bought a brick (500g.) of "saf-instant yeast" at a Middle 
Eastern grocery store.  I remember reading here that saf yeast  was the 
yeast of choice in France but the yeast we purchased comes from Mexico.
Does anyone have any information on this saf yeast and how it compares 
to others, including Red Star and the french saf yeast? BTW, the 
500g/17.64 oz brick cost $4.49 Canadian.
