Mix your package of yeast in a 1/4 cup of warm water and stir
in a quarter teaspoon of sugar. Wait 4 or 5 minutes and see if
the mixture is actively bubbly. If it is bubbly, then the yeast is
good. If not bubbly, the yeast is bad or old.
