This was a big hit with us...however, the pepper didn't sound very 
appetizing so I substituted nutmeg.

1 1/2-pound loaf
(20 slices)

3/4 cup mashed canned pears
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg
3 cups bread flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

2-pound loaf
(27 slices)

1 cup mashed canned pears
1/3 cup water
4 teaspoons honey
1 egg
4 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

Select the loaf size.  Add the ingredients to the machine according to 
the manufacturer's directions.  Select the basic white bread cycle.
