Okay, after reading all the rave reviews about Joni's Pane recipe, I just had to try it, even though I'm usually a whole grain kinda gal. And it did taste wonderful...that crackly crust...wow! But I think I did something wrong, unless Pane Pugliese translates into Bread Stepped On By Elephant. Is it supposed to be only an inch or so thick?
