I'd like to thank everybody who took the time to send me a message on how to deal with flax seed vs flax meal in Gabi's bread recipe. The consensus was to use a blender or a clean coffee grinder and to clean the appliance out well afterwards as the flax seeds have a strong flavor. Also, not to over process or I'd end up with paste.
