Beard on Bread (1975) has this as "Myrtle Allen's Brown Bread" but has you warm the bowl and the flour before mixing. Nice to see this no knead recipe return but I wish the older name had been kept. I was going to say honouring the inventor but the recipe may go back much further. I've made this loaf many times using a variety of flours and it has been a favourite of many people who have learned to bake in my kitchen. Harold Chapman Guelph, Ontario
