This kind of yeast is still available.  I have seen it in some of the 
local supermarkets, located in the refrigerated foods section.  I 
think I saw it where they keep items like butter, yogurt, etc., but 
can't recall exactly.

I have not used this type of yeast, so I can't comment on that.
