Re the weighing of water: according to the dictionary definition 
extrapolated from the weight of, I believe, a gallon of water, 1 cup weighs 
236.35 grams so I go with 236 grams which is 8.27 ounces. fortunately the 
"8 ounce" measuring cup is usually fairly close to that weight though it 
varies from cup to cup. The amount of variance from a cold to hot room is 
insignifcant as is altitude, in relation to the weight.
