My Salter model 2006 weighs in increments of 1 gram.  As noted by 
editor, 1 gram is not very much; to test whether the scale is truly 
only capable of 2 gram increments, weigh a cup or so of beans, adding 
the last few beans one-at-a time.  When I do this, I can easily see 1 
gram increments.  I can also approximate .5 gram increments because 
when in between grams, my scale can't make up its mind and displays 
first one weight, then the other; for example, alternating 56gr - 
57gr -56 gr, etc.
