Here's a basic sweet dough recipe for you:

Title: BASIC SWEET DOUGH

This is a standard sweet dough which can be used in any
recipe of your choice.
1 1/2-pound 1-pound
3/8 cup milk 1/4 cup milk
3/8 - 1/2 cup water 1/4 - 3/8 cup water
1 egg 1 egg
3 cups all-purpose or 2 cups all-purpose or
unbleached flour unbleached flour
1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons butter or
magarine margarine
1/3 cup sugar 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active 1 1/2 teaspoons RED STAR
dry yeast active dry yeast
Place all ingredients in bread pan, select "dough" setting,
and press "start".
Once dough has risen long enough, the machine will beep.
Turn off bread machine, remove bread pan, and turn out
dough onto a floured counter top or cutting board.
Follow directions for specific recipe.

No need to bake it in the oven. Remove the dough from your machine
just before the final rise, quickly roll it out into a large
rectangle, brush with some melted butter, sprinkle generously with
cinnamon sugar, roll up tightly and coil it back into your bread pan.
The bread will rise and bake in your machine as usual. We call them
"swirl breads." They're fun and quite easy...you just have to have
everything handy, work quickly, and be careful not to pull the pan
out of the machine along with the dough because in some machines,
that will shut them off.
