Sticky rye dough

I like using rye flour for the taste. The trouble is that even a small amount
of rye flour in the recipe causes an incredibly stick dough to form. It
sticks to my hands and just about anything else. I use a bread machine for
kneading.

Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done about it?
