I did a Google search for Wattisfield Ware Suffolk, and I got a website for 
a tour agency that takes tourists to the Henry Watson Potteries. The 
impression on the bottom of your wife's pan may indicate that it is newer 
than my pans are but that it is made by the same company. From other 
websites that popped up, I gather that Wattisfield and Suffolk have been 
famous for pottery for centuries. Interesting.
