Deck ovens are designed for bread. We have two 3 deck ovens that bake 250 
loaves per oven. The only think that I don't know in you case is how high 
the baking chamber is in you friends oven. Pizza's don't rise too much, but 
most pizza ovens that I see look like they will work fine for breads. Good luck
