Someone recently mentioned putting their bread into the refrigerator to keep it fresh. The worst place to keep your bread (in or out of any sort of a keeper) is in the refrigerator. That average fridge temperature of 40 degrees F is perfect for making it go stale. Keep it in a keeper on your kitchen counter if it will be eaten within a few days or freeze it (sliced first is best). Bob the Tarheel Baker
