I have used the baking pan in the bottom of the oven before, I have yet to
try the stones. I did notice at a local DIY store that they had 16"sq (40cm
sq) tiles for sale, I am considering using those.

I noticed you are in Yorkshire, many years ago I left Derbyshire for the
states.
